TYPE KE – Flat Explosion Vent
The Brilex flat rectangular explosion vent is a single section design with folded edges, crossed rib and integrated pressure control and sealing gaskets. This very accurate explosion vent has been proven in the field in many explosion cases and has a fast dynamic response that makes this vent superior to flat triple section designs. The KE is certified for Kst values up to 650 bar.m/sec and 100% venting efficiency. Other features include: Material: 304 SS or 316L SS Integrated Gaskets: EPDM, White Silicone, Food Grade Silicone, Klinger C4400, Ceramic, others on request Burst Pressures (Pstat): Standard 0.1 bar @ 20 deg C, other pressures available Burst Tolerance: Standard +/- 10% Vacuum Resistance: 50% of the rated burst pressure. Maximum Operating Pressure: up to 60% of the rated burst pressure Optional Insulation: Rockwool in Aluminium cover or Armaflex. BRILEX KE SERIES
If the negative pressure is not greater than 60% of the rated rupture pressure, installation of a domed vent has no extra benefit. For this application the KE is an alternative to the domed GE. The BRILEX KE provides long durability and aerodynamic advantages compared to the domed type, for example in cyclones. Pressure spike control, integrated flange gaskets, cross rib and folded edges are standard KE design features.
